Watercolor is a difficult medium to handle. Many watercolorists will not hesitate to say so. However, difficult as it is, many artists have used the medium for centuries to create amazing works that are in museums and private collections across the globe.
In the 20th and 21st century artists like Wassily Kandinsky, Emil Nolde, Paul Klee, Egon Schiele, Raoul Dufy, Charles Burchfield, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, Charles Demuth, and John Marin created major artworks using watercolor.
Through the years, the love of the watercolor medium has continued to grow among artists. Many young contemporary artists have taken up the medium, creating works that deserve commendation. That is the reason for organizing the Watercolor Art Prize.
The main objective of the Watercolor Art Prize is to celebrate artists who are using this medium to create amazing paintings. We hope to uncover incredible watercolorists from diverse backgrounds and experience levels and connect them with global audiences. The competition is open to artists around the globe working in the watercolor medium. This competition aims to uncover incredible watercolor artists from diverse backgrounds and experience levels. Our aim is to be able to connect them with global audiences and career-changing opportunities including exhibitions
Artists can enter in any of the categories allowed in this competition. Categories include Abstract, Animals, Architecture, Floral, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature, Panorama, People, Portrait, Still Life, Sunset, Travel, and trees.
These categories are just guides. Winners will be selected from all entries based on the quality of their works.
1 Image: $11, 3 Images: $29, 5 Images: $49, 10 Images $99, 15 Images: $149, 20 Images: $181, 25 Images: $249, 30 Images: $281, 35 Images: $331, 40 Images: $381. There are no limits on the number of entries, however, we recommend that you submit only your best ones.
